Sklithri, Tzaneria, Kanapitsa, Koutsouries (bus stop 11 & bus stop 12)
After Achliades, and just before the Kalamaki peninsula, you reach the low-profileSklithri beach (bus stop 11, parking opposite Sklithri taverna). It is accessed by the steps by the side of the traditional taverna, which dominates the small beach. There is some natural shade.
The next pair of beaches, the neighbouring Tzaneria and Kanapitsa (Blue Flag), can be accessed from bus stop 12, or by water taxi from Skiathos Town.
Kanapitsa is a distinctive beach. The stretch of sand is thin but there is plenty of natural shade provided by the trees above one side. The usual range of watersports activities are available. Speedboat taxis travel to Tsougria, Arkos and Koutsouries. The sole taverna, Kanapitsa, is a good place to enjoy the view. There is a large car park although there are plans to turn this into a five a side football pitch.
The Dolphin Diving Centre (see scuba diving in the ‘attractions and activities’ section) is located at Tzaneria.
The small beach at Koutsouries is also signed from bus stop 12, though is a little further away to walk or drive. You will have to walk the final and fairly steep path down to the beach. The ‘Diamandi Beach Bar’ proves to be a somewhat misleadingly named caravan, but provides a range of refreshments.
